  • Assure your title tags on all your pages match your target keywords and are relevant to the content.
  • You should have one dedicated page per target keyword.
  • Assure your meta descriptions are complete and unique per page.
  • Your content should be a mixture of informative and sales driven.
  • Make use of your H-tags. Your H1 should include your target keyword for the page or a variation of it.
  • Remove all meta keywords.
  • Assure your content is at least 70% original.
  • Have a Blog on your site and update it regularly with content that supports your main service pages.
  • Assure you have a html and a xml sitemap.
  • Use a mix of content that is easy to digest such as 2-3 sentence paragraphs, mixed in with bullet lists, images and videos.
  • Shoot for 500+ word pages.
  • Assure all images of the website have appropriate titles and alt tags.
  • Assure your content is not stuffed with keywords. Your writing should be natural and informative.
  • Assure your Google Analytics is working properly and connected with your Webmaster Tools Account.
  • Add professional certifications to your site (BBB, etc).
  • Always keep your CMS and plugins up to date.

If any of these issues apply to you, fix them immediately

  • Content is misleading.
  • Website is detected as spam or malicious.
  • Duplicate text content is over 60%. Use copyscape to check.
  • Average visitor time on site is less than 10 seconds.
  • Bounce Rate is above 80%.
  • Keywords are stuffed into main content.
  • You have hidden text.
  • Page cloaking (presenting one page to the search engines, and another to the viewer).
  • Site takes longer than 4 seconds to load.
