Update of Services and Copyright Infringement Awareness

Dear Client:

We hope this post finds you well. Below please find two important updates we wanted to share with you, please read.

Update of Services: In an effort to keep you up to date with the latest changes in the web marketing world, we wanted to let you know that we are altering the calculation of our CLICKS Force Factor algorithm. Our proprietary algorithm determines how much force we put behind your marketing efforts and allows us to deliver the types of consistent results you have come to expect. In early April, Google implemented several specific changes to their search algorithm, which are actually more in line with the way we like to approach your marketing. As such, we would like to inform you of several changes we will be making to your marketing strategy. Effective May 1st, the content distribution will be adjusted to the following:

1. If we are writing blogs for you, we will create longer blogs with less frequency.
2. We will be marketing more social sharing on those blog posts.
3. We will be using additional blogging websites, such as blogger and tumblr, to post your blogs to. As such, you may not see a new blog posting to your website every month, as we will be posting additional blogs to the other services.

As a company, we are actually very excited to be able to do this, as we feel it will serve your overall marketing strategy much better.

Copyright Infringement Awareness: The copyrighting of images on the web has become a big opportunity for businesses trying to “make a quick buck” from unsuspecting business owners. Several companies have established themselves as the “image police” of the web and have been hired by several image distribution agencies to enforce copyright infringement of any images they may have licensed. We do not advocate copying images from other websites, and certainly believe photographers who have contributed images to the public domain should be compensated for their work, but the practice of licensing their work has taken on a life of its own. The most notable change is that many of the licensing agencies require annual fees to re-issue the license for every photo. We feel that is unjust and frankly, a big racket. Unfortunately there was a ruling in Alaska several months ago setting precedent, allowing companies to enforce copyright infringement to any business owner with very little oversight. As such, we are making you aware of this recent trend and are recommending for you to only use personally developed images on your website.

We are further recommending you remove any images on your website that were not developed by you. Understandably, this is a big hassle and an added cost for you to hire a photographer, but we recommend it none-the-less. The fines for some of these infringements can be substantial and legally fighting an infringement notice can become a big hassle. We don’t like to deliver bad news, but as an integral part of your marketing team, we felt it was important to make you aware of this recent trend. We can not provide any legal advice, but if you have any general questions, please feel free to contact us.

Finally, in an effort to continuously provide the customer service you are used to, we recently added two new Clickster team members to help accomplish all the goals we have set for you. Please welcome Matt Fenoff and Remya Murugan to the team.

Thank you for continuously placing your trust in our services to help you grow your online business presence.
